The Roadmap of EuroLaxHub: Past, Present, Future.

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

As I write this, EuroLaxHub is officially gearing up for launch. It's been over six months of steady progress - what started as an idea turned into a prototype, and after many edits and changes, it finally got to the point where I felt confident enough it was ready to launch it to the public for the first time. So here's a story about how the European Lacrosse Community got here, why EuroLaxHub has come about, and what we've got planned for the future.

The Growth of European Lacrosse

European Lacrosse has been steadily growing over the past few decades. In 1995 there were only 6 member nations in the ELF, and that number has risen to 37 as we approach 2023. With this growth has come an influx of tournaments and countless opportunities for players, coaches and officials to travel across the continent, experiencing different cultures, making new friends, and depending on your luck with weather, sunbathing!

However, as the number of opportunities have increased, it's become harder and harder to keep track of them all. The tournaments needing players, teams and officials. The events needing attendees, coaching roles that need filling. The traditional method of relying on a myriad of Facebook groups and contacts became harder to maintain. That's where the idea of EuroLaxHub was born. A hub to easily find everything you need in one place.

What EuroLaxHub Does

EuroLaxHub scours the web and social media, and directly contacts event organisers in order to gather information about tournaments as far ahead of time as possible. We want to provide an easy way to find events, officiating and coaching opportunities, and anything else we think is useful for the lacrosse community.

To start off with, the focus has been on making EuroLaxHub as easy as possible for people to use and find events and opportunities. We've got mens, women's, mixed, youth, field, 6s, box, and even 8s! Which is why we started with calendar listing events, a map to view by location, and a blog. But we don't want to stop there. We want to make it even better.

The Roadmap

So what does the future for EuroLaxHub look like? We want to add even more features, which you can see below.

Next features in line:

  • Fully fledged zebra zone with useful links, resources, and guidance

  • Coaches Corner - As above, with coaching opportunities, places to find mentoring and more.

  • A monthly newsletter with the latest tournament confirmations, coaching opportunities, and more straight into your inbox

Potential Future features:

  • Improved calendar to filter by discipline (6s/box/field etc)

  • A way to make pickup playing easier - for both players and tournament hosts

  • Advertising training clinics and camps

  • Club finder to find domestic clubs across Europe

  • Mobile App

These are just a few ideas that we'd love to introduce to EuroLaxHub. If you have any more ideas, feel free to get in touch by emailing eurolaxhub@gmail.com

We hope you enjoy EuroLaxHub. Please share us with your lacrosse friends, and help us grow the game in Europe!
